Ingredients

What Kind of Product Is Horsemen?

Before the ingredients, the basics: it is a dietary supplement in capsule form, sold for men, with a short list of label claims.

Horsemen is a men's supplement. The bottle names the brand Vitalifes and the product Horsemen, and it holds 60 capsules. It is a capsule, not a gummy, a drop or a powder. If you searched for horsemen gummies or horsemen drops, those are not the form on this label.

The front panel says Energy Support, Vitality Support and Stamina Support, plus four lines: energy to perform, stamina to endure, vitality to thrive and advanced formula for men. Gethorsemen, the retailer behind this site, is not the maker.

The panel

What Does the Supplement Facts Panel Say?

The panel names a serving size of two capsules and 30 servings per container. It then shows one line: Test Boost Proprietary Blend, 1000mg, with a mark that says Daily Value not established. Under it sit nine ingredient names. No ingredient has its own milligram line.

The nine ingredients in label order
Order on labelIngredientAmount
1L-Lysine HCLnot published
2Apple cider vinegar (Malus domestica) fruitnot published
3Garcinia cambogia powdernot published
4Tongkat ali extract (Eurycoma longifolia) rootnot published
5Horny goat weed extract (Epimedium grandiflorum) plantnot published
6Wild yam extract (Dioscorea villosa) rootnot published
7Cinnamon extract (Cinnamomum verum) barknot published
8Bitter melon extract (Momordica charantia) fruitnot published
9Raspberry ketonesnot published

US rules ask a maker to list blend ingredients from the largest share to the smallest. So L-lysine likely has the biggest share and raspberry ketones the smallest.

Other ingredients

What Else Is Inside the Capsule?

Below the blend, the Other Ingredients line names a gelatin capsule, rice powder and vegetable-grade magnesium stearate. These form and steady the capsule. They sit outside the 1,000 mg blend.

Because the shell is gelatin, which comes from animal collagen, Horsemen is not vegan or vegetarian. People with a gelatin allergy should not take it. No caffeine or other stimulant is listed anywhere on the panel.

Ingredients one to four

What Does the Research Say About the First Four Ingredients?

Lysine is one of the essential amino acids, meaning diet or a supplement must supply it. Most human research tests it for cold sores, not energy. A placebo-controlled crossover trial used 1000 mg a day, and a review suggests doses above 3000 mg a day may work better, with weak evidence overall.

Apple cider vinegar has moderate evidence, mostly for blood sugar and body weight. The research dose is 15-30 mL a day, which is about 750-1500 mg of acetic acid.

Garcinia cambogia carries the compound HCA. Pooled trials used roughly 900-2800 mg a day of HCA and saw only a small weight effect, with weak evidence. It also has the strongest safety flag in the blend.

Tongkat ali has the most human research. Trials used 200-600 mg a day of a standardized root extract, with moderate evidence, mostly on testosterone.

Ingredients five to nine

And What About the Last Five?

Horny goat weed has no established human efficacy dose. Its main compound, icariin, was tested for safety up to 1680 mg a day. Wild yam has no established oral dose, and the one controlled human trial used a topical cream.

Cinnamon research uses roughly 1-6 g a day, mostly of cassia cinnamon, not the Cinnamomum verum in Horsemen. Bitter melon trials used about 500-2000 mg a day of dried fruit or extract. Raspberry ketones have no human trials, only animal studies.

Notice that five of the nine are more often studied for weight or blood sugar than for men's energy. The blend mixes those with the traditional men's herbs.

Doing the sum

Can Nine Ingredients Fit Research Doses in 1,000 mg?

Split evenly, 1,000 mg across nine ingredients is about 111 mg each. Tongkat ali's lowest research dose alone is 200 mg. Bitter melon's trial doses start at 500 mg. Cinnamon's start at 1 g.

So the blend cannot hold research doses of all nine. Which ones are near a research dose, if any, is not published. We will not summarize this product as clinically dosed.

The gaps

What Does the Label Leave Out?

  • The milligram amount of each of the nine ingredients.
  • Extract ratios, such as a percent of eurycomanone in tongkat ali.
  • A lab report you can read, or a public certificate of analysis.
  • The GMP certificate number, and which plant makes the capsules.

What the label does give you is a lot number (HOR-26/GE-6653 on our sample), a certificate-of-analysis reference (HOR-6653-26-GE) and an expiry of 07-2028.

Maker and seller

Our view

Our view

The list itself is plain. Nine ingredients, one blend, three capsule parts. What stands out is the mix. Several ingredients are known mostly for weight or blood sugar, and two are traditional men's herbs. Only one, tongkat ali, has a good pile of human research.

We think a buyer should expect a general-support product, not a dose-matched one. The label claims are modest, which fits. The missing amounts are the weak spot.

Read the panel, read the cautions for the ingredients that touch your health, and bring the bottle to your doctor if you take medicine.

Medical note

Horsemen is a dietary supplement. It is not FDA approved, and no supplement is. It is not meant to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. If you are pregnant, nursing, under 18, have a medical condition or take medicine, ask your doctor before you start. Take medical questions to a doctor, not to a web page.
